Vegetable Fiber

NEOHpedia | Vegetable Fiber

For a balanced diet, it is recommended that an adult consume at least 30 grams of dietary fiber per day. This may not seem like a lot at first glance, but very few people actually consume that many grams. On average, adults with an average diet actually consume only 20 grams per day. Significantly less! But does this also have a negative effect on health? This question can be answered with a clear YES. Many studies show that a lack of fiber is a risk factor for obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attacks and other ailments. Digestion suffers, and hemorrhoids and constipation can result. Many diseases can be cured with sufficient fiber or would not arise in the first place. For this reason, we have also defined the main part in our special sugar replacement formula with vegetable fiber from many different sources such as corn, agave or chicory. Our products have an average of about 8 grams of dietary fiber per piece.

All dietary fibers used have FDA GRAS-status and no specific ADI value has been assigned.

Another great advantage of the selected vegetable fibers in our products is also the fact that they can have a positive effect on blood sugar levels and even intercept blood sugar spikes.

Dietary fibers are vegetable fibers and swelling agents. These are mostly indigestible and contain more or less no kilocalories. They are divided into soluble and insoluble fiber and especially the soluble fiber act as prebiotics and are thus food from the bacteria in the intestine. These then contribute to a healthy microbiome and thus a healthy intestine and this is also preventive against very many diseases and has a positive effect on the immune system, since the intestine is the most important immune organ. Through the formation of the intestinal bacteria of short-chain fatty acids, which then enter the blood via the intestinal cells, the arteries are protected against calcification and heart disease can also be prevented. Dietary fiber also provides a long-lasting feeling of satiety and thus prevents cravings and obesity.

Dietary fiber is used to increase the volume of a meal without increasing the calories. Dietary fiber also increases the feeling of satiety by allowing food to stay in the stomach longer.

Depending on the raw material, the raw materials are harvested, washed and then extraction in hot water takes place and the product is then either purified or enzymatically hydrolyzed and finally the product is spray dried.
